Last weekend was very eventful for the former UFC welterweight champion, Tyron Woodley. After losing his fight to Jake Paul via split decision, the former UFC fighter vowed to exact revenge in a rematch. Woodley was willing to go to the extent of getting ‘I Love Jake Paul’ tattooed on his body to secure the rematch.
Following the fight, Showtime did not release the PPV numbers. However, just days later, Woodley eliminated the mystery surrounding the same and stated that the fight was the highest selling PPV for 2021.

In an Instagram live, Tyron ‘The Chosen One’ Woodley said, “Hey, could I say something? Pay-per-view doing some sh*t right now, I promise you. I told you, you motherf**kers just laughed at me. Go back to my phone, write in Instagram.”
“I said this would be the biggest pay-per-view of the year… We gonna run it back, and when we do, we going for the record the next time. We are right now, right underneath Floyd Mayweather and Logan Paul for PPV. If we go over that number, it’s gonna be the 5th highest PPV in the history of PPVs.”

The Floyd ‘Money’ Mayweather vs Logan Paul fight generated over one million PPV buys on the Showtime network, making it one of the highest PPV buys in the history of PPVs. Based on Woodley’s comments, this would mean that the Jake ‘The Problem Child’ Paul vs Tyron Woodley fight sold around (slightly lesser) the same number of PPV buys.
