Floyd Mayweather has become notorious for spending huge amounts of money on expensive cars, luxury houses, and expensive jewelry. Along with his iconic career, he has also managed to amass a fortune unreachable by many of his peers. Thereby, his name has become synonymous with money, thus earning him the same nickname.

However, this spendthrift attitude of Mayweather has made him a target for many who feel that his showboating is at often times unnecessary. One such person was none other than Mayweather’s former opponent, Andre Berto, who hilariously trolled Mayweather before their fight back in 2015.

In the final episode of Showtime’s “All Access” leading up to the fight, the former two-time Welterweight champion took a dig at Money. He trolled Mayweather and stated that the reason he flaunts his money was to make up for his lack of intelligence.” He can’t read, write or spell, and these are facts. There’s a reason why he walks around with all that cash. You think he knows how to write a check?” said Berto.

However, Mayweather did get the last laugh as he comfortably won the fight via decision and showed Berto his in-ring intelligence. Berto was a former welterweight champion, but Mayweather comfortably out-boxed him, winning all twelve rounds. Moreover, this was Maywether’s 49th professional victory after which he only fought once professionally.

Mayweather currently runs his own promotion, which he founded back in 2007 after his infamous cash out from Top Rank. Moreover, he has also been involved in other businesses, including owning a Nascar team, ‘The Money Team Racing’. Along with his businesses, Mayweather also has been a part of some of the top-grossing fights in boxing history. Money is certainly a once-in-a-generation talent that has managed to replicate his in-ring pedigree in the real world.
