Billy Joe Saunders Set to Face Canelo Alvarez For Super-Middleweight Title

Billy Joe Saunders is set to face Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez with the two reportedly close to finalizing a deal. Canelo is undefeated since 2013 with his only loss coming to Floyd Mayweather. Saunders is undefeated in 29 bouts but Canelo will be his toughest challenge yet.

The financial incentive of this fight is great for both fighters with a deal worth $278 Million being signed back in 2018.

Alvarez has dominated over the past 7 years having held world titles in 3 divisions plus beating Sergey Kovalev after his move up to light heavyweight. Canelo’s technique is unmatched and his experience despite his relatively young age makes him all the more dangerous.
Billy Joe Saunders is relatively new to the sport and despite that, he has truly achieved a lot. Despite Saunders being a world champion he’s someone who doesn’t get the recognition he deserves and is surely going to be the underdog for this fight.
