Super-middleweight champions Canelo Alvarez and Billy Joe Saunders will battle it out in what will be a contender for Fights of the Year. The two champions will meet on May 8 and compete for the unified championship of the world.

Both fighters have their advantages and their disadvantages going into the fight. However, experts have leaned towards Alvarez as the favorite. Now, Saunders has now given his opinion on one of Alvarez’s most prominent assets.

The 30-0 boxer spoke at the virtual press conference and gave his honest thoughts on Alvarez’s power. He said, “We don’t know, until the night, until the bell goes. When that bell rings, we’ll see. We’ll see what happens. But, you know, he’s the most, he’s the most devastating puncher on the planet and he’s the most fearsome man on the planet.”

This comment should raise a few eyebrows as Saunders has never been this respectful to Alvarez. However, it showed how much Saunders respects his opponent. And rightly so, since Alvarez has shown his devastating power time and time again, and in a fight of such small margins, that could be the defining factor.

These comments from Saunders showed he is not oblivious to the P4P star’s incredible skills. However, he has reiterated his confidence in winning the fight. So how can the Englishman combat Alvarez’s power and get the victory?
