WBO welterweight champion Terence Crawford finally seems to have received an opponent in Shawn Porter and can return to defend his championship soon. Following a long hiatus since beating Kell Brook, ‘Bud’ was almost out of relevance in the current championship landscape.
Meanwhile, WBO has ordered him to step up against Porter and Top Rank Kingpin Bob Arum is optimistic about staging the fight.
If Crawford vs Porter happens, it will be another joint force of action between Top Rank Promotions and Premier Boxing Championships. Although the fight is nowhere near the horizon of official confirmation, Arum has claimed to have begun the process already.

Meanwhile, Terence Crawford and Top Rank Promotions had been rough with each other on several contractual specificities in the past. The battered relationship became even dirtier when Arum passed insulting comments about promoting ‘Bud’. While it almost urged the WBO champion to part ways, he could finally come under terms with the Top Rank Promotions.

Shawn Porter, the former world champion may be a top-tier opponent to welcome back Terence Crawford. However, boasting off a 37-0 record, Crawford will remain the favorite, and it’s hard to picture him lose against Porter. So, it’s still might not be the matchup to thrill the fans.
