Top Rank’s Bob Arum has reassured fans after Tyson Fury’s comments. The famous promoter explained the WBC champion’s pessimism and asked for patience. Furthermore, ‘Bobfather’ even explained what’s holding up the announcement.

Fury has made no secret of his pessimism about the fight happening for a while now. The undefeated champion first said he was unsure whether he would fight Joshua. Since then, he has revealed the fight is not as close as everyone makes it out to be.

However, Arum is having none of it. He spoke to Boxing Scene and explained Fury’s behavior. The promoter said, “That’s his nature. He’s impatient. Listen, if I could wave a wand and end the pandemic wouldn’t I do it? We’re all on the same page. Eddie’s on the same page, everybody’s on the same page.”

This comment from Arum showed that the fight is still on and it is as close as they suggest. Moreover, it showed that the promoter is unbothered by the champion’s comments and thinks that it’s only down to his nature.

Bob Arum explains the delay
One of Fury’s biggest questions to all the rumors was why was there a delay in announcing the fight. Both Eddie Hearn and Arum revealed that that the two parties had agreed to all terms. Therefore, ‘The Gypsy King’ asked for the official announcement.
However, Arum updated fans on the situation and pointed out that the pandemic is still affecting the fight. The promoter revealed that no one will finance the bout when the prospect of spectators is limited.
He then added, “All these athletes are unhappy but so am I unhappy. So is everybody unhappy. Just be patient and it will straighten out.”

This comment showed that just like Fury, the delay in announcing the fight frustrates Arum. However, he has asked fans for their patience. This will be good news for boxing fans as the comments from ‘The Gypsy King’ raised a few eyebrows in the sport.
