The biggest weapon in a fighter’s arsenal other than himself is his team. And a fighter can only be as good as his team functions. And it seems like Deontay Wilder is looking to bolster his team with new additions.

Ahead of the final edition of Wilder and Fury’s trilogy saga, The Bronze Bomber will be bringing a set of new members to beef up his team.

“I am looking to bring someone in, for sure. We don’t have it down yet, but I’m definitely gonna bring – I’ve got two people I’m bringing in.”- Deontay Wilder on The PBC Podcast

The former WBC heavyweight champion has not yet revealed who will be joining his team. However, Wilder did mention that he has been in talks with former heavyweight champion George Foreman since his loss to Fury.

“You know, one of them, he always comes to camp on some basis or whatever. He always around. He in and out anyway. But we’ll see what happens. I think we’ve got a great team that’s gonna be formed.”- Deontay Wilder

Following his loss, Wilder exercised his right to demand a rematch with Fury almost immediately. Initially, the fight was looking to take place sometime around July. However, the Coronavirus pandemic has made it somewhat difficult.

But Wilder is using this time wisely to heal from a bicep injury he suffered while fighting Fury. The Bomber, hungry for redemption, is keen to get back to training. He is certain that his team has what it takes to win the title back from Fury, who in his eyes is not the real champion. Not until Fury beats him again.

“Once everything goes back to normal, hopefully, it’ll be sooner than later, and I can get my team in order and we can move forward with our game plan for the third fight.”- Deontay Wilder

The tentative dates for their matchup suggests that the fight will take place on October 3rd. The venue of the fight, however, is yet to be finalized.

“A lot of people see this time and they just want publicity. They wanna be able to say, they were the name that came in and stuff like that. And just look at it in a different way. That’s how I’m looking at it, and that’s how I know boxing. Boxing is very crooked. It’s a dirty business.”- Deontay Wilder
