The viral video of Hollywood actor, Will Smith, slapping comedian Chris Rock at the 94th Academy Awards overshadowed his first-ever Oscar win. Meanwhile, former five-weight division world champion Floyd Mayweather Jr. took to Instagram to congratulate the actor on his Oscar win.

Mayweather shared a picture of Smith and himself, and wrote, “CONGRATULATIONS on your Oscar @willsmith.” 

Smith won the ‘best actor’ award at the Oscars. He had played the role of Serena and Venus Williams’ father in the ‘King Richard’ movie.

Will Smith has been in the news for the wrong reasons after slapping Chris Rock at the Oscars event. Rock made a joke about Smith’s wife, Jada, drawing a parallel to Demi Moore’s hairstyle from the movie ‘GI Jane’. However, it didn’t sit well with Will Smith or his wife, Jada Pinkett Smith, as she is battling the autoimmune disease alopecia.
