‘Iron Mike’ appeared in the blockbuster film trilogy The Hangover, as well as Ip Man 3 among other films. Now, the boxing legend will play alongside Sean Penn in the new film ‘Black Flies,’ as per The Hollywood Reporter.

The movie is an adaptation of the novel of the same name, authored by American novelist Shannon Burke. The dramatic thriller is directed by Jean-Stephane Sauvaire. It revolves around two New York City paramedics, Tye Sheridan and Sean Penn. Mike Tyson is said to have a lead role, where he will be the superior officer to Sheridan and Penn.

Sheridan will portray a first-year medic who is fresh to the city and unaware of its truths, and who subsequently receives a street-level view of the same. Penn will embody a grizzled veteran who also happens to be one of the top emergency medics in the city. Tyson fans would enjoy seeing him work with such a talented cast.

Mike Tyson’s upcoming biographical series

A Tyson biography series is now in development and will be available to the public in the near future. The narrative, struggle, and accomplishments of ‘The Baddest Man on the Planet’ are extraordinary and inspirational. It would be a treat for his admirers to gain a glimpse into his real life.

Executive producers of the series include Hollywood biggies, Martin Scorsese and Antoine Fuqua, as well as Tyson himself. Oscar-winner Jamie Foxx will be seen in the lead role, playing the boxing icon. The series will be written by screenwriter, Colin Preston.
