WBO 147 lbs champion Terence Crawford doesn’t have an official opponent to defend his title against. He was rumored to face Errol Spence Jr, in a massive unification bout, but the matchup is nowhere close to fruition. Hence, ‘Bud’ doesn’t have any relevant name to box against.

However, Mike Tyson has found an interesting challenge for him in Mikey Garcia. Amid all the other fights, the heavyweight legend has urged Crawford to go against Garcia and has billed it as an interesting fight. From the set of his podcast, Mike Tyson connected with ES News and claimed that the 33-year-old is ready for ‘Bud’.

“I think Crawford should fight Mikey Garcia, I want to see that fight. That would be a beautiful fight if those two guys are fighting, styles and all. I wish I was with Mikey, I would pick his fights,” said Mike Tyson.

The heavyweight legend added, “He (Garcia) looks so good. See, I would never let him fight Broner. Broner can make him look bad. But that guy Crawford can make him (Mikey Garcia) look good. Mikey is an underrated fighter.”

While Tyson has his confidence in Garcia, the former lightweight champion has also put his sight on Terence Crawford. That said, we can expect the welterweight thriller to go down soon.

Mikey Garcia reacts to facing Terence Crawford

Still fresh from his lopsided win over Jessie Vargas, Mikey Garcia boasts a pro record of 40 wins and 1 loss under his name. He has attained 30 of those wins via KOs and is one of the most reputed 147 pounders of the time. While his only career loss has come against Errol Spence Jr., a showdown with Crawford would determine Garcia’s ability against the elites.

Reacting to the matchup between him and ‘Bud’ Garcia said, “That will be a fight, f*** yeah. He needs to stop fighting the lower quality opponents, coz it just doesn’t make him look good. He is so talented, and he is so f*** great, he is a very good fighter. But unfortunately, you know, fighting opponents like that doesn’t give him the credibility.”
