Mike Tyson has etched his name in the history of the sport. He is still a prevalent personality in boxing, years after his retirement. During his prime, he was a feared individual to compete against. He has an array of spectacular knockouts due to which he became a celebrated boxer to witness. Many athletes around the world admire and look up to Tyson.

Tyson has involved himself in the sport even after his retirement. One may wonder who Tyson finds entertaining to watch. In a recent interview, he confessed, who is his favorite fighter to watch. He also explained why he enjoys watching his favorite fighter compete.

Tyson was in attendance during the Caleb Plant vs David Benavidez press conference. Post the face-off, in an interview with @Fighthype he was asked what he thinks of the bout and also the fighters involved in the main event.

He explicitly stated that Benavidez is his favorite fighter. He is of the opinion that Benavidez’s opponents are afraid to fight him. He then corrects himself and states that they at least appear to be afraid of him.

He stated, “Hey listen, He is my favorite fighter because everyone is afraid of him.” He then states that at least they appear to be afraid. He adds, “Everyone appears to be afraid but I don’t know if they are.”

Indeed, Benavidez is a force to be reckoned with. Tyson’s opponents were afraid of him too during his prime. One may speculate that the reason behind ‘The Mexican Monster’ being his favorite fighter is because he can resonate with him.

Benavidez is a great young talent with a lot of potential. He is undefeated and has looked promising as of yet. Tyson in the same interview stated why Benavidez can beat a lot of people in his weight class. He states, “The consistency of punches and aggressiveness. No one has even hurt him yet. He is fighting the best fighters. He’s a good fighter.”
