Political violence appears to be resurfacing as a disturbing trend in America. After decades of relative peace, Donald Trump has already faced two assassination attempts within just two months. Meanwhile, Elon Musk’s recent remarks highlight a troubling mindset among today’s ultra-wealthy, prompting veteran boxing promoter Lou DiBella to criticize the UHNWI’s attitudes sharply.

Back in mid-July, presidential candidate Donald Trump narrowly dodged an assassination attempt while speaking at a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania. Thomas Matthew Crooks, the 20-year-old perpetrator of the assassination attempt, was shot and killed by the Secret Service snipers. Two months have passed since then, and Trump faced a similar situation once again.

On Sunday afternoon, Trump was apparently targeted by another would-be assassin during a round of golf, according to the FBI. The suspect appears to be in custody now, as investigators say the man was armed with an AK-47-style rifle and was waiting in the bushes near the perimeter while Trump was playing golf on his West Palm Beach golf course in Florida.

Luckily, the Secret Service, who opened fire, managed to spot the alleged perpetrator before anything happened. Following this incident, a user on X questioned why these assassination attempts were targeted at Donald Trump alone. This immediately seems to have caught Elon Musk’s eye, who responded on the platform.

Musk wrote, “And no one is even trying to assassinate Biden/Kamala,” indicating the attempts at life from the assassinations should be spread across all presidential candidates and even the current president. Seeing such a wild take on Trump’s second assassination attempt, Lou DiBella, who has promoted renowned boxers like Richard Commey, Heather Hardy, Jamel Herring, George Kambosos Jr, Cherneka Johnson and Christina Linardatou, quickly joined the conversation.

In an angry retort, responding to Musk, Lou DiBella criticized the statement, especially because of the influence the 1%er has over people. “One of the richest and most influence-affecting people on earth posting this s**t. You’re a depraved mfer, @elonmusk,” Lou DiBella wrote.

Meanwhile, Trump has addressed the public following the 2nd assassination attempt.

Former President of the United States has confirmed his safety following the second assassination attempt. The incident saw the Secret Service take swift action, unlike the last time, against the gunman hiding in nearby bushes. Now, the suspect has been identified as 58-year-old Ryan Wesley Routh from Hawaii, who tried to flee the scene but was quickly apprehended on the I-95.

Since then, Trump, in an email to his supporters, reassured people about his safety, writing, “I AM SAFE AND WELL!” Even current President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris expressed relief over Trump’s safety, with Harris especially condemning the violence, writing, “Violence has no place in America” on X. Vice Presidential nominee JD Vancee revealed he spoke to Trump after the incident, and confirmed he was in good spirits.

That said, it appears Elon Musk isn’t content with one presidential candidate/human being coming under threat alone. There’s no denying the insensitivity of his statement, but we would like to get your thoughts on this. What do you think about Musk’s statement?
