WBC heavyweight champion, Tyson Fury, could face a familiar foe after talks of a potential trilogy fight against Dereck Chisora. This was reported after Fury’s bout against Anthony Joshua, got called off after months of back and forth. Now, with ‘AJ’ out of the way, Del Boy has emerged as the next contender.
The news was first reported by The Telegraph, and has now been confirmed by many outlets. The ESPN ringside, recently, announced that the fight would take place on December 3rd, when Fury was initially supposed to face Joshua.

Moreover, this will be the third time the two behemoths will face each other in the ring. Fury has got the better of Chisora in both of their previous meetings. The pair first met back in 2011, with Fury winning via Decision and then handing Chisora his first stoppage loss in 2014.

Fury has already beaten his fellow heavyweight rival twice, thereby leaving many to wonder about the necessity for a third fight. The boxing world was also not shy to state their disbelief as they reacted to this announcement.

One fan hilariously stated that the pre-fight press conference will be more entertaining than the fight. He wrote, “The press conference will be better than the fight 100% guaranteed.”
Another fan added that no one including him wanted to see this fight. “No one wants to see this.”

Moreover, one fan even took shots at Fury claiming that despite him announcing himself as the best heavyweight in the world, he was still avoiding top contenders. “This is the self-appointed best heavyweight- avoiding any top contenders and going for Chisora 3, a fight that no one cares about,” he commented.
Another fan called the whole fight a ‘joke’. “What a joke,” he wrote. However some fans were supportive of the fight as one fan claimed that although boring, this would be a good retirement fight for Chisora. He commented, “That’ll be a good retirement fight for Derek, but a boring fight.”

Yet another fan called it a good fight citing both fighters as ‘warriors’. “Good fight 2 warriors,” he said.
Despite some fans thinking that this would be a good challenge, many feel that this was certainly not the best fight to make. Moreover, with Joe Joyce’s impressive victory over Joseph Parker, the consensus was that Fury should consider Joyce as his next opponent.
