In a boxing event in Dubai on March 18, the Hall of Fame boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr. reunited with his former opponent Marcos Maidana. The duo hugged it out keeping aside the rivalry that they shared years back when they were active in sports as Welterweight dynamos. Both came across in the ring and renewed the old memories, showed respect, and embraced each other’s presence. This heartwarming moment received wide media coverage.

It was captured on camera and shared on the internet. A page named Chinomaidanapromotion shared the clip on Facebook. The caption of the post written in Spanish when translated to English using Facebook translator reads, “FLOYD MAYWEATHER AND CHINO MAIDANA TOGETHER AGAIN! Two of the greatest exponents of world boxing met again in Dubai as part of a great event that is taking place. CMP boxers, national and Inter. They are part of that billboard.”

Notably, Mayweather and Maidana fought twice in their career. The first time they squared off in the ring was in 2014 for the WBA (Unified), WBC, and The Ring Welterweight titles. The duo came up with high expectations and produced an epic slugfest. The fight remained close but finally, Mayweather secured the victory.

Unsatisfied with the decision, Maidana got another opportunity. Mayweather agreed to fight him the same year but it did not make any difference. Mayweather again won by decision.
