BREAKING: Tyson Fury Suffers a Blow- Parts With £1.5 Million

World Heavyweight Champion Tyson Fury has reportedly settled a lawsuit with his former promoter Mick Hennessy by paying a sum of £1.5 million

Following his triumph against Deontay Wilder, the WBC heavyweight king has agreed to pay the sum to his former promoter. Hennessey registered the court case because he claims the Fury breached their contract.

The Gypsy King made his debut on a Hennessey fight card at the age of 20. back in 2008. Tyson Fury continued to fight under his promotional banner till 2015. After which he went on to defeat Wladimir Klitschko for the IBF, WBO, WBA, IBO world titles.

Following his victory Tyson Fury found himself in a two-year-long exile from the sport as he battled mental health issues and recreational drugs.

After his long struggle Fury made a return to the ring under the banner of Frank Warren in 2018. His return saw him draw against Deontay Wilder.

Tyson Fury signed a multi-year deal with Top Rank amid his negotiations for a rematch with Wilder. Signing the co-promotion deal with the company owned by Bob Arum, he agreed to move all his future fights to ESPN.

Fury is reportedly worth £70 million after his high-profile rematch with Deontay Wilder. His astonishing win against the American fighter now has him set for taking on Anthony Joshua. The all British showdown is worth almost £400 million.

Hennessey seeks legal action against the Gypsy King after alleging that the 31-year-old breached the terms of their contract. However, the pair decided to settle the case a few days before the matter was to be taken to court.

“Both Tyson and Mick thought they were in the right. Mick brought legal action and Tyson decided it was easier to settle rather than go through a drawn-out legal battle. Both are happy they are now able to move on.”- a source told The Sun

Fury grabbed the WBC world title by taking on Wilder at the MGM Grand. King dropped Wilder twice and forced Wilder’s side to toss in the towel in the seventh round. Fury is set to take on Wilder in a trilogy match that may take place at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada in July. Following the loss, Wilder invoked the rematch clause to force a third fight.
