Brendan Schaub Recalls Evander Holyfield Requiring an Aide in Order to Attend Charity Event Seven Years Ago

Brendan Schaub has made a name for himself in the MMA scene. From fighter to podcast host to comedian, Brendan seems to have done it all. The 38-year-old hosts the ‘Below The Belt Podcast’ on Showtime, where he discusses all the hot topics in the combat sports world.
Naturally, the fight next weekend between Evander Holyfield and Vitor Belfort came up during the podcast. The fight already had its own share of problems when De La Hoya pulled out when he tested positive for Covid. Holyfield stepped in, which means they will have to shift the entire card to Florida.

The California State Athletic Commission (CSAC) did not grant Holyfield a license. Due to his ‘diminished’ skills and age, the CSAC refused Holyfield a license. Schaub made some shocking claims regarding the health of the former champion.
On his podcast, Brendan Schaub said, “I was at a charity function with Evander seven years ago, and he had to have a handler to steer him where to go cause he didn’t know where he was at, so I don’t know if he should be fighting,”
“But Evander, I have no idea how he’s going to look like. Now, when I saw him at that charity function, maybe he had some drinks. I don’t know, maybe he was just out of it. But a guy did have to whisper in his ear everybody’s name and show him where to go.”
With Oscar De La Hoya out, Evander Holyfield is stepping in to fight Vitor Belfort.

Deteriorating health conditions have plagued Holyfield even before he fought ‘Iron’ Mike Tyson when doctors discovered a hole in his heart and they forced him to retire due to a Cardiac condition. If what Brendan Schaub said is true, then Vitor Belfort could end up seriously injuring his opponent.
