After the November 6 fight, Custer said, “He told me this, he said, ‘I wanna fight in May of 2022’ and he said, I asked him, I said, which one is more of a reality Charlo or Benavidez? And he said Charlo to him. He was here tonight and I’ll give you something. I hear there was a meeting with the Charlo people, so stay tuned.”

Custer made another announcement, saying, “Haymon was in Vegas for the Canelo/Plant fight but more importantly to talk to Canelo folks about doing a Charlo deal and that was after the fight.”
