After his defeat to Oleksandr Usyk, Derek Chisora stated via his Instagram. The charismatic heavyweight expressed his opinion in a brutally honest post.

This came after a decision loss to Oleksandr Usyk, which ended in a 117-112, 115-113, 115-113 scorecard. Some felt that Chisora had done enough to get the victory, but it was not to be. It was clear that Usyk had the upper-hand when it went to the judges’ scorecards.

The veteran Englishman, whose record now stands at 32-10, has been honest in all his post-fight interviews.

In his Instagram post, Derek explained how he felt. He said, “We wanted the win so badly. I am gutted and disappointed and upset. But guess what we brush ourselves off and carry on.”

Chisora also said, “I hope you guys enjoyed the fight. I only do this for you guys to be happy. I love it.” And it was a good fight for fans. Both fighters didn’t back down and gave us 12 rounds of highest quality boxing.

Chisora also showed Usyk respect in the post. He said, @usykaa I saw your post, and you said some really nice things. I appreciate it. I am grateful too to your family and team for making all the sacrifices you will have made to be ready for WAR.”

He also explained why he respected Usyk and why there has been no bad blood. He said, “The fight game is hard man, only gladiators step through those ropes. I’ve always had great respect for you and who knows we may have to do it again for the fans at some point.”

Chisora thanked his team, family, and friends for everything they did for him. He also showed appreciation for all the fans that tuned in by saying, “To everyone who tuned in, you make boxing so special for me. I can’t get enough of it.
