“No, it’s irrelevant to me. Words mean nothing to me. No matter what he’s saying or what he thinks, I could also tweet the exact same thing. I could tweet the exact same thing what he’s tweeting you know.”

The former Olympic gold medalist, when asked about Ryan Garcia’s somewhat celebrity status in the sport, said “Yea, like I said, I don’t take any notice of the celebrity status of it, and you know all these followers and stuff he’s got.

“I’m preparing for the best of Ryan Garcia. The toughest fight of my career coming up next. That’s my mentality, and that’s the way I’m preparing for the fight.” Once again, Campbell showed no interest to get into a war of words. And also, he seems unaffected by the stature of his opponent.

Luke Campbell on whether his fight with Vasyl Lomachenko will help him defeat Ryan Garcia

The British fighter responded to questions regarding his past fight with Lomachenko by saying, “Styles make different fights for a start. But for me, I look at that fight thinking, I can be so much better than that. Just a few tweaks and adjustments here and there in my style, and I feel like I can be a much better fighter than that.

“So that’s what I take from that fight. I don’t take from that fight, ‘Oh, I can mix it with him, so I can do it with anyone’. That’s irrelevant to me. It’s about personal performance from myself.”

Thus, it is clear to see that Luke Campbell is taking a very professional approach to this fight. The things that Garcia said can’t bother him, and he will solely focus on his performance.

Given that Luke Campbell has always been one of the top contenders in the division for a while now, it is not a surprise to see this approach from the experienced fighter.
