Rolly Romero suffered more than a devastating loss last night against Isaac Cruz! The Las Vegas resident entered the fight confident about dominating his opponent but fell short of delivering on his promise. The referee halted the fight midway because Romero was hit with at least 6 straight shots to his head. During the in-ring interview, while Jordan Plant highlighted the same, it angered fans that she chose to ask him questions moments after being knocked out.

However, former world champion,  Caleb Plant, quickly rescued his wife on social media. When Jordan probed Romero whether he had underestimated Cruz. In response, the former WBA super lightweight champion firmly stated, “Nah, I worked hard.” It seemingly prompted Jordan to follow up, “I didn’t say you didn’t work hard. But you did say he is going to be easy to hit. And I do think you took more punches than you thought you would. So, what went wrong during this fight?

The statement from Jordan seemed to have left Rolly Romero speechless, he simply ignored the question and addressed the audience. “I want to tell everybody, thank you for coming out. Honestly, happy Easter everybody.” Romero clearly looked dazed after the knockout. As he tried to put his words together, he added, “… It’s like Jesus was resurrected, I’ll be back. I want to tell everybody, happy Easter and thank you for supporting me and following me.”

While nothing much happened during the event, the same can not be said about social media, where numerous fans bashed Jordan for how she approached the situation. One of the users hopped on X (formerly Twitter) to shed light on the interview and wrote, “I hope Jordan Plant learns from this. That’s not how you interview a fighter post-fight.”

Amidst the outrage directed at his wife, Caleb Plant decided to weigh in with his perspective, staunchly defending her.  Caleb replied, “Na she told them she doesn’t think they should interview him (because she knows the game) they told her too and insisted after she said that and Rolly said he wanted to do it…part of the game.”

Ryan Garcia claims Deen the Great would beat Rolly Romero

Despite what Romero claimed before the fight, Isaac Cruz absolutely dominated him, defeating him via seventh-round technical knockout. However, Cruz’s win became clear when he dropped Romero in the first and seventh rounds. So, reacting to the performance, Ryan Garcia ridiculed the former WBA super lightweight champion.

Garcia wrote, “Remember when Rollies thought he pulled a fast one on me by choosing to fight Pitbull the last second and then proceeded to get knocked out by a 125-pounder.” He went as far as to imply Romero’s skill set is on the same level as influencer boxers. He further added, “In all seriousness, Rolly needs to do influencer boxing and I’m not kidding I think Deen beats him.”
