Canelo Alvarez and his trainer Eddie Reynoso sat down with Brian Custer for a tell-all interview. The Mexican champ was oozing confidence as he spoke about why Caleb Plant is not a threat to him. Canelo is less than two weeks away from his fight against Caleb Plant.

Canelo and Reynoso spoke about how Canelo has fought tougher opponents in the past. “And as far as past opponents that may be similar to Caleb Plant and comparable, for Canelo, you can think about Erislandy Lara. And also in the beginning of Canelo’s career, there have been opponents that put up a challenge. You can think about Shane Mosley for example.” 

“But in the end, they don’t think that Caleb Plant is gonna present that big of a challenge. Where they’re gonna be able to come out victorious and they have no doubt about their capability to do so,” Reynoso said. However, Canelo is not taking this fight lightly, as he has the chance to make history.

Canelo Alvarez stands to make Boxing history as the first undisputed super middleweight champion of the world. He also has the chance to make history as the first Mexican to become the undisputed champion in the four-belt era. Caleb Plant, on the other hand, will look to derail the Mexican’s quest for glory. As Plant truly believes he has what it takes to give Canelo the second loss of his career.

This fight is personal for Canelo Alvarez

Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez is not usually the kind of fighter to try and get into his opponent’s head or try to trash talk his opponent. The Mexican rarely ever even reacts to any of his opponents’ taunts. However, Caleb Plant seems to have got into Canelo’s head, as Alvarez publicly admits that this fight is personal.

“I respect his skills. He has a lot of boxing skills, but the way he says bad things, that’s not my way of promoting fights. But he came with that. OK. You got what you want,” Canelo said. Alvarez and Plant got into it during their press conference when Plant used a word that Canelo found insulting.
