Caleb Plant will face Canelo Alvarez for the undisputed Super Middleweight title on November 6. Plant is the undefeated IBF Super Middleweight champion. The IBF is the only belt that Canelo doesn’t have. Canelo won his last belt when he fought Billy Joe Saunders in May earlier this year.

This fight is probably the biggest fight of 2021 and was originally planned to be held in September. However, negotiations fell through and it was then rescheduled for November 6 in Las Vegas.

Caleb Plant seems pretty confident in his abilities and took to his Instagram to proclaim that he would win. “I’m putting my name in those history books forever as the first undisputed super middleweight champion of all time” Plant said via Instagram. The Tennessee-born fighter has built up an impressive fight resume. He boasts of an unbeaten record with 21 wins.

In those 21 fights, 12 wins have come by way of knockout. Plant is a power puncher and the current IBF champ in Canelo’s weight category. Canelo Alvarez, on the other hand, is one of the most dominant forces in boxing. The 31-year-old Mexican will be going into his 60th professional bout on November 6.

Out of the 60 bouts, Canelo lost only 1 and drew twice. His sole loss came against one of the greatest fighters of all time, Floyd ‘Money’ Mayweather. Since that fight, however, Canelo completely transformed his game and evolved as a boxer. He developed all aspects of his game, raising the question of whether a prime Canelo would be able to deal a prime Mayweather with his first-ever loss.

Most recently, Canelo is in tremendous form as he ended the unbeaten title reigns of British duo Callum Smith and Billy Joe Saunders.
