Caleb Plant Punishes Caleb Truax for 12 Rounds to Retain His IBF Super Middleweight Title

Caleb Plant defended his IBO super-middleweight strap and remained unbeaten by taking out Caleb Truax via decision in their main-event clash. While many billed Caleb Truax as tough competition, Caleb Plant showcased his in-ring supremacy to the world.

Coming off strong from the initial rounds, Plant saw a lot of loopholes in Truax’s game. He exploited those flaws and sealed the victory in style. Crisp combinations, fast hands, and clean footwork, Plant had everything in his arsenal and utilized all his armors to win the fight.

While Truax couldn’t offer much in response, it was all glory for Caleb Plant tonight. Now, having registered his third successful title defense, ‘Sweethands’ can aim at the other champions of the division.

Caleb Plant dismantles Caleb Truax in an inspiring way

Plant landed the heavier shots and didn’t let his opponent get away without being hit. He constantly posed the threat, while Truax kept slow jabbing. By the beginning of round 5, Plant had secured 59 significant strikes in contrast to Truax’s 13.

It turned to 68 for Plant by the sixth round and 18 for Truax. So, it’s prominent that Plant was the aggressor. He continued to dominate the fight as it went deeper. After a while, the damage was prominent on Truax’s face. Although he tried to regain momentum, Plant was too quick inside the ring.

Apart from dictating the aggression, Caleb Plant nullified a reach disadvantage. Furthermore, he maintained the range and dictated the fight throughout. On touching 100 strikes, Plant became more fierce as Truax was still around 25.

Meanwhile, Truax did every possible thing to keep a distance. He had his minor moments in the ring, but Plant mostly dominated the fight. Neither party could bag the stoppage, but it was an intriguing fight between two prime super middleweights.

Plant sealed the fight and ended with 177 significant strikes; Truax only had 47. Following an impressive win over ‘Golden’ Truax, Plant can envision a clash against Canelo Alvarez or Billy Joe Saunders in the future.
