Every professional boxer happens to be a learner. The sport of boxing is a subject to study. And every pro boxer has the habit of learning from the greats who have graced the ring. It is safe to say that every boxing showdown is a lesson from the lens of a boxer watching it in the future. This visual learning only adds to the fighter’s training and allows them to work on their shortcomings, learning from some of the greatest who have tightened their gloves. And recently, Caleb Plant revealed his favorites to study.

While on a podcast episode, the former IBF super-middleweight champion Caleb Plant opened up about the all-time greats of boxing he likes to watch and study. Plant lost his last fight against David Benavidez via a unanimous decision. And the boxing world awaits his return to the ring. However, while out of the ring, he gave the boxing world a sneak peek into his list of the greats.

Caleb Plant on his sources of inspiration

Caleb Plant was a guest on the podcast episode hosted by ex-Impaulsive co-host George Janko. On the podcast, Plant was asked about how he likes to learn in boxing.

Plant said, “I have a long list of guys. I saved it a lot on film.”Naming his greats, he added, “James Tony, Floyd Mayweather, Andre Ward, Mike McCallum, Sugar Ray Leonard, the list goes on and on Salvador Sanchez.” It seems like Plant has an appetite to learn more, as reflected by the names he gave.

The last three fights have not been a thrill for ‘Sweethands’ as he lost two out of the three. The most recent one happened at the hands of the ‘Mexican Monster.’ The fans await the return of the former champion. As of now, the date of his return is unclear. He recently gave a hint for a mega fight.

Which other sport would Plant choose except boxing?

Further in the podcast, Janko asked Plant what other sport the Ashland-city born would choose if he couldn’t box anymore. Plant responded by saying, “Probably football.” To provide more context, he said that he played a lot of football as a child. This response from Plant surprised the host as well.
