Caleb Plant Reveals Timeframe for Canelo Alvarez Fight

Caleb Plant is one of the best super-middleweight fighters in the world right now. The undefeated American is widely regarded as the one to beat P4P king Canelo Alvarez thanks to his unique boxing style. And the IBF champion has now given fans an update on that potential fight.

Alvarez has stated his desire to become an undisputed champion at 168 lbs. As a result, a fight against Plant is inevitable. Moreover, Plant has made no secret of his desire to face Alvarez, and boxing fans around the world now have a timeline for the fight.

The 21-0 boxer appeared on PBC’s telecast of Andy Ruiz Jr. vs. Chris Arreola. Speaking about a potential date for Alvarez, Plant said, “The plan is for September. So, you know, hopefully we can get everything worked out, and give the fans the first undisputed super-middleweight champion of all time, and you know, everybody will be able to see those belts around me.”

This comment showed his confidence in beating Alvarez and becoming the undisputed champion. Moreover, it is a timeline that will match all parties as Canelo Alvarez will face Billy Joe Saunders next weekend. This will give the winner enough time to recover and prepare for a fight in September.

Sweethands’ said, “But regardless, I’m looking to become the first undisputed champion at super-middleweight. So, whoever I have to fight, or whatever I have to do to make that happen, that’s what I’m looking to do.”

This comment confirmed that Plant is open to fighting Saunders as well, and won’t hold out for Alvarez. However, the champion will have to wait a week to find out which opponent he will face in September.
