In conversation with Fight Hub TV on YouTube, Plant spoke about several things. On Saunders’ fighting stye, Plant said, “He’s got a slick style, southpaw… He’s got a bit of grittiness to him too. Bit of mean-streak.”

He added, “But some of his performances… some have felt is a little bit lackluster, and some of his world title defenses I guess. But you know, he’s gotten the job done and his hand raised and so…”

Thus, these comments showed that Plant respects the Brit.

Will Caleb Plant fight Billy Joe Saunders?

In the video, Plant expressed his desire to become the first undisputed super-middleweight champion. The self-proclaimed ‘Best Super-middleweight in the World’ claimed he is willing to make the big fights in 2021.

Furthermore, after his title defense in December, Saunders also said he wanted to make the big fights happen sooner rather than later. He claimed that the tougher opposition would bring out the best in him.

With his fighting style, Plant would surely bring out the best in the Englishman. He would have to be on his A-game to beat the talented American fighter. Furthermore, it would help answer the doubts about his lackluster performances as well.

Therefore, given that both fighters are among the top prospects in the division, and both are world champions, it makes sense for them to get a fight. However, both want the bigger fish in Canelo Alvarez. So it will be interesting to see how this all pans out in 2021.
