And now he is all set to fight for the WBC interim Super Middleweight title against longtime nemesis, David Benavidez. The fight was further hyped by the history of bad blood between the fighters. Plant will face Benavidez at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Paradise, Nevada, on March 25, 2023. And it can be said that tempers have been flaring ever since the fight was announced. In fact, Plant recently issued a stern warning to Benavidez. He said, “I am also settling into myself as well. With all the experience I have gained. Through all the big fights I have been in. Meanwhile, it was reported that the duo has agreed to a 50-50 split. However, a particular number was not given out. There were reports revealing that they were seeking purses of $2 million each, but this is currently unconfirmed.

With the PPVs selling for $74.99 each, it can be said that there might also be a considerable PPV split in the picture. Plant had previously earned $10 million in his fight against Canelo Alvarez, as reported by The Sporting News.

As reported by CBS, Plant was recorded saying, “His dad got an interview and said I only talk about Alia to get clout or to get famous. He said that she’s not here no more so I just need to be quiet and let things be. I don’t f*ck with that.”
