Former super-middleweight champion Caleb Truax has voiced his opinion on the state of the division. The American spoke about Mexican superstar Canelo Alvarez at 168 and opined that he stands indomitable at the moment.
Truax is a former IBF super-middleweight champion and is fresh off a defeat at the hands of Caleb Plant. Plant is the current IBF super-middleweight champion and finds himself in line to face Canelo. And Truax has already placed his bets.

Speaking to Fred Talks Fighting on YouTube, Truax said, “I wouldn’t pick anyone to beat Canelo right now, you know. I think he’s a man possessed right now, man. He looks pretty damn good after beating Callum Smith the way he did.”

After Alvarez beat the Brit, he called for unification fights in the super-middleweight division. This put Caleb Plant and Billy Joe Saunders on notice as they hold the other two titles. Moreover, Alvarez has taken a fight against Avni Yildirim on short notice to make the big fights happen later on.
However, with his comments, Truax showed that the Mexican is on his way to becoming an undisputed champion if he stays in the division.

“He hasn’t really done much in super-middleweight to warrant anyone picking him over Canelo Alvarez. But at the same time, his style, slick boxing southpaw, is what has given Canelo problems in the past,” said Truax.
