Demetrius Andrade is considered one of the topmost contenders in the light-middleweight to super-middleweight divisions. Andrade is preparing for yet another explosive showdown. Meanwhile, fans have been anticipating a showdown between him and either Canelo Alvarez or Gennady Golovkin. However, Andrade recently clarified why his fight with these superstars might just be a bland affair.

Andrade is currently set to face Demond Nicholson at the Capital One Arena in Washington D.C. on January 1, 2023. Moreover, this fight is the co-main event in a showdown that will also see Gervonta Davis face Hector Luis Garcia.
FightHype caught up with him at the presser for the event. In conversation, the reporter asked him about the top three fighters in his hit list. But, the reporter was quick to state that Jermall Charlo undeniably takes the first place in the list. Notably, Andrade had a longstanding beef with Charlo.

Andrade responded, by saying, “I mean I had a hitlist, you know. But, you know, time, GGG that just ran out of time. You know what I’m saying. It’s like you know I can mention guys. But their timeline’s over now.”

He also mentioned that his fight with Golovkin might look good on his resume. But he was unsure about it.

Demetrius Andrade believes the Canelo Alvarez fight might not be interesting
Pound-for-pound superstar Canelo Alvarez is one of the best fighters in four divisions, including the super-middleweight division. However, Demetrius Andrade believes that Alvarez might not be the perfect opponent for him.

Talking about potentially fighting Alvarez, he said, “Of course, Canelo, but you see where that goes, nowhere. He ain’t trying to get in there with the real dogs. Or someone that knows to really fight. And can punch too as well, that’s smart.”

Moreover, Andrade added that Charlo is the only fighter who is currently on his hit list.
