After petrifying Callum Smith for a dominant win, Saul Alvarez is already set for his next fight. He now holds the WBA, WBC, and The Ring super-middleweight belts. Alvarez has no plans of moving up or down. Instead, he wants to defend his newly won WBC super-middleweight belt next.
As per Mike Coppinger of The Athletic, Alvarez will possibly fight twice next year.

He tweeted, “Eddie Hearn and Eddy Reynoso discussing a two-fight deal for Canelo Alvarez to compete on DAZN in February and May against Avni Yildirim and Billy Joe Saunders, respectively. If deal reached, first bout could take place Feb. 27 in Canelo’s hometown, Guadalajara, Mexico,”
Eddie Hearn is in talks with Canelo’s manager Eddy Reynoso to fix him up for a dual fight in 2021. Canelo himself has an opponent in mind to face in his next fight.
He wants the Avni Yildirim challenge next. Saul wishes to keep this fight in Mexico as this will be a homecoming for the champion after a while.
Post this fight, Canelo is speculated to take on Billy Joe Saunders around May 2021. In the past, Eddie Hearn hinted at a fight for Billy Joe Saunders against Canelo. Saunders has the WBO super-middleweight gold and the Brit will enjoy a rugged challenge facing Canelo in a big-money fight.

If booked, fans might see the Mexican boxer as quickly as February 2021. He’ll be on a constant roll following this fight, probably coming back in May.
Can Canelo Alvarez become the unified super-middleweight champion?
Many boxing experts and enthusiasts wrote Canelo off against Callum Smith. But he reverted with a solid win over him. Except for the IBF and WBO, he has all the 168-pound titles.
If Canelo defends his WBC belt against Yildirim and dethrones Saunders from his WBO throne, he will unquestionably be in line to take on Caleb Plant, the IBF super-middleweight champion.
