A few days back, Canelo Alvarez gave an honest opinion about his gym partner and former interim lightweight champion, Ryan Garcia. Recently, Alvarez chatted with Fight Hub TV over this juncture. Here, a translator interpreted his quotes.

I haven’t talked to him no because he’s just recovering from his surgery. But what I said about him it wasn’t meant in a bad way. It was meant to be constructive criticism. I want him to take it that way and get the motivation to be on the right track once again.”

Alvarez is like an elder brother to Ryan Garcia, and he only wants the young gun to do well. That said, even in his earlier comments, his sole aim was to push ‘King Ry’ to remain on the right path.

Garcia is recovering from his hand injury that scuppered his bout against Joseph Diaz. He only took one fight this year, and that was against Luke Campbell. As the young force is still in the early days of the sport, he needs to take on as many fights as possible.

If he had remained active after the Campbell fight, Garcia could have been boxing for the world title in his next bout.

Will Ryan Garcia fight this year?

Ryan Garcia suffered a serious injury. Hence, he will have to spend a while to fully recover from the same. After his recent surgery, the young gun took it to his social handle to update his fans on the same.

He wrote, “Massive success now I have danger in both hands beware, I’m very happy”

Although ‘King Ry’ is on his road to recovery, it seems impossible that he will return in 2021.

Hence, fans can expect him to storm into the ring by early 2022. It will be interesting to see how he fares on his return.
