Canelo Alvarez has been a big fan of etching tales on the canvas of his skin – the suspected 15 tattoos on his body are evidence of the same. Yet, in this unfolding saga of his inked odyssey, the Mexican superstar graced his frame with a poignant addition. An addition that transcends the ordinary, for it manifests as a portrait, a sacred rendering of his progeny on the parchment of his being.

In a recent twist of fate, Docta Woo, a skilled tattoo artist from Los Angeles, unfurls the narrative behind Canelo’s latest ink while sharing never-before-seen behind-the-scenes photos of the champion. While Canelo’s life has been an open book, the Instagram post shared by Docta Woo shows the depth of Canelo’s profound love for his children.

“Proud Papa! New portrait on the champ, made last year,” wrote Docta Woo in the post shared on the social media platform. The artist included two pictures of when the tattoos were etched on Canelo’s right upper arm. Here, his son’s visage embodied youthful strength, standing erect, left biceps flexed, his continence adorned with a smile.

In proximity, his sister graces the scene, draped in a frock, crowned by a delicate headband. This tattoo Canelo adorned on his body back in February 2020 by the same tattoo artist from Hideaway at Suit X tattoo studio. Shared on Instagram on the same date, the artist wrote, “Family is everything [Canelo Alvarez].” However, even this wasn’t the first tattoo of one of his children.

Canelo Alvarez’s entire forearm is covered by this tattoo

Back in February 2018, the Mexican superstar got his daughter Emily Cinnamon Alvarez’s portrait inked on his left forearm. Emily is an aspiring actress and an internet personality, born on 12 October 2005 to Karen Beltran. She is also Canelo’s first child; he had her when Canelo had just started his career. His daughter’s middle name is a nod to his own nickname, ‘Canelo.’

BOLO, the tattoo artist, shared a couple of pictures of the tattoo and behind-the-scenes snaps on his Instagram account on February 24, 2018. The artist wrote, “New tattoo for the champion [Canelo], thanks, bro!!” The fiery-haired Mexican went into his rematch with Gennady Golovkin sporting the tattoo on his arm. Unlike his recent tattoo, this one is larger, covering his entire forearm.
