Alvarez has now become a part of an elite club with just a few boxers. However, his career is far from over, unlike some of the boxers whose statues were made after they retired. This shows how impactful he is for boxing with his hometown giving him the perfect reward.

Other boxers with statues made in their honor

The most notable boxer with a statue was none other than Muhammad Ali. The former heavyweight champion is widely considered to be the greatest boxer of all time. Therefore, it is only fitting that he has a statue made after him.

The statue was made back in 2o11 by Michael Kalish. The 22-foot-high sculpture in Los Angeles consists of 1,300 punching bags, 6.5 miles of stainless steel cable, and 2,500 pounds of aluminum pipe. Other boxers who have their statues include Deontay Wilder, Joe Louis, and Davey Moore.

However. there is one statute that does not belong to a boxer but is just as impactful. The Rocky Statue in Philadelphia is considered to be the most iconic boxing monument in the world. The statue was made for Sylvester Stallone’s Rocky, considered to be the best boxing franchise of all time. Moreover, it has become the centerpiece of the city, with many visiting it on tour.
