Canelo Alvarez Makes Quick Work of Opponent in Virtual Reality

Canelo Alvarez is the pound-for-pound best boxer in the world. The Mexican is hell-bent on making history every time he steps into the ring. Love him or hate him, he is boxing’s biggest attraction at present and he always interacts with his fans.

A couple of years ago, Canelo went on television to take on a Virtual Reality opponent. Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. and Oscar De La Hoya joined him on the show as they took turns against their VR opponent. Canelo hardly took any time to knock his opponent down as he threw his hands up in celebration.

However, the opponent beat the count, got back up, and came very close to knocking him out. At one point, Canelo’s character in the game was dazed, with stars around his head. Hence, the champion really had to break a sweat and try hard to score the next knockout and win the fight.

While he won that AI fight, he continued winning real fights as well. Now, he will look to continue his winning run in 2022.

Is Canelo Alvarez fighting Jermall Charlo?

Over the past few days, rumors of a fight between Canelo and WBA middleweight champion Jermall Charlo were rampant. Many journalists and broadcasters claimed that talks for a fight between the two were on. However, according to Canelo’s trainer/manager Eddy Reynoso, Canelo and his team are currently not in negotiations with anyone.

This is after ESPN reported that Canelo is most likely taking on the WBA middleweight champion Jermall Charlo in May this year during Cinco De Mayo weekend. We are unsure whether Reynoso’s comments were made just to keep the negotiations confidential or whether there are no negotiations.
