30-year-old Canelo Alvarez is the youngest of his seven siblings and hails from a family of boxers. However, the current P4P King wasn’t blessed with an easy road to reach where he is at today.

Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez was born to Santo Alvarez and Anna Maria Barragan on July 18, 1990, in Guadalajara, Mexico. His father was a farmer when Alvarez was young.

They came from a middle-class background and had to struggle for money. Their family later shifted to Juanacatlán in Jalisco, when Alvarez was still young.

Fortunately, their destiny took an upswing when Alvarez began professional boxing, and he soon became a household figure. Throughout this time, his father remained a significant influence on Alvarez.

After securing world titles in their weight classes, Alvarez touched fourth by bagging the WBC and WBA super-middleweight title against Callum Smith on December 19, 2020. He is also regarded as the ‘face of boxing’ at this stage and is one of the biggest superstars in the sport.
