The lightweight division of boxing has a vast pool of great fighters. Two of the best would be Gervonta Davis and Ryan Garcia. Both of them have strutted to the top with excellent performances. However, they never went up against each other as yet. But now the two are in talks for a potential fight. Therefore, in regard to this probable match up, the Mexican boxing superstar, Canelo Alvarez, shared his thoughts.

While talking to the Fight Hub TV, Canelo Alvarez was asked about the Gervonta Davis vs. Ryan Garcia clash. He mentioned that this will be a good fight for boxing.

Furthermore, he was asked who would win the fight, to which Alvarez replied, “I think Tank has got more experience. That’s what I think, but in boxing, you never know.”

The Mexican tried to remain impartial when asked who he thought would win the fight, but he ultimately took the side of Gervonta Davis(27-0-0) because of his greater amount of experience in the sport. Although there is no formal announcement on the battle so far, it appears that shortly, fans will learn the exact date of this much-awaited clash.

Gervonta Davis vs. Ryan Garcia: A contest for the best fighter

It has been weeks since the news broke out about a fight between the two fighters. It all started when Ryan Garcia(23-0-0) called out the Baltimore prodigy for a potential bout. KingRy last fought against Javier Fortuna inside the ring on July 16. Soon after his victory, he called out Davis for a showdown. 

As Garcia was answering questions from the media after his win, he took the opportunity and said, “I’m not going back down to 135 for nothing, but I will fight Tank next. If Tank wants that at 140. But ay, I’m gonna record all the negotiations so you guys don’t make no headlines saying I’m ducking. If he want it, let’s get it.”

Although Davis did not confirmed anything, he surely gave a hint that he was ready to fight Garcia. Tank wrote in a Tweet, “See y’all the end of the year..#TheONE.”
