Canelo Alvarez is one of the biggest stars in boxing. The P4P superstar has conquered several weight classes and has beaten several champions throughout his career. As he prepares for another test against Billy Joe Saunders, we look at who is promoting him for the bout.
Given his success in the sport, Alvarez is one of the most marketable boxers. The proof of this was in his incredibly lucrative contract with Golden Boy and DAZN. However, after a legal dispute with Oscar De La Hoya, Alvarez became a free agent.

The 55-1-2 boxer signed a two-fight deal with Matchroom’s Eddie Hearn at the back end of 2020 after his release from Golden Boy. It appeared that the primary reason for this was to make the unification bout with Billy Joe Saunders possible.
Eddie Hearn also represents Saunders, and thus, it was easier to make the fight. As of now, Alvarez is on his second fight of a two-fight deal with Matchroom. Therefore, Eddie Hearn and Matchroom Boxing have promoted the highly anticipated bout with Billy Joe Saunders.

Despite signing with Hearn, Alvarez has no intention of a long-term union with the Englishman. He has previously stated his delight at working as a free agent, as it would also help him make all the big fights possible.
