However, that’s not the only reason people think Garcia would lose! Since both fighters started their pro careers, Haney has managed to achieve way more than the Victorville native. Canelo Alvarez is one of those individuals who has achieved more than most fighters can dream about. Whether it’s maintaining a formidable boxing record or becoming undisputed, the Mexican superstar has seemingly achieved everything he needs to. So, when Elie Seckbach probed him about retirement, Canelo had the perfect answer ready!

Answering the reporter, Canelo said, “I love boxing. I love boxing, and I love being fighting. So, that’s why I’m here.” Soon after this, a reporter from Fight Hype questioned Canelo whether Garcia could win the fight against Haney, considering his state of mind.

Having known Garcia closely when he used to train in Canelo’s gym, the Mexican superstar claimed, “If he’s 100%, yes.” However, it’s worth mentioning that Garcia had left Canelo’s boxing gym in 2022, claiming Eddy Reynoso didn’t have time for him. Despite that, his relationship with Canelo has remained unaffected. Meanwhile, an English boxing promoter has revealed his predictions for the fight.

Following Haney’s tremendous performance against Regis Prograis last year, he secured the WBC lightweight title and will be defending it against Garcia in their upcoming fight. Now that one of the biggest fights of 2024 is here, so are the predictions.

While speaking to Seconds Out, Eddie Hearn claimed, “Fantastic fight. Perfect fight for Devin, perfect fight for DAZN. Great fight for Ryan Garcia. Fair play to both guys. Two tremendous young fighters putting it on the line. April 20th, we’re looking forward to a massive night.” Later in the interview, he even shared his prediction, claiming, “I think Devin wins by late-stoppage or points.”
