Canelo will fight ‘Sweethands’ Plant on November 6 for the undisputed super-middleweight championship in Las Vegas.

Canelo said, “He’s an insecure person. You can see with his body language that he’s an insecure person. I’m not worried about that. I’m worried about the fighter. He’s a good boxer, he’s got a good jab, but I have the skills and the experience to beat him.” (h/t DAZN)

The reason Canelo called Plant insecure was because of how much Plant kept trash-talking him. Plant also went after Canelo’s trainer and brought up the Mexican fighter’s past problems with drug tests.

Caleb Plant reacts to Canelo Alvarez calling him insecure

IBF super-middleweight champion Caleb Plant is not someone who runs away from a fight. After watching his opponent call him an insecure boxer, Plant replied with his own statements regarding Canelo. “Is taking illegal substances, does that stem from insecurity? Because like I said, taking illegal substances, that doesn’t stem from confidence.”

“That stems from fear. Whether it’s fear of not being able to make weight or not having enough stamina or not being strong enough, or whatever the situation may be. That’s insecurity,” said Plant.
