Undisputed super middleweight champion Canelo Alvarez will face Gennady Golovkin for their third rematch on September 12, 2022. Alvarez will be working extra hard to defend his titles against Golovkin. However, Alvarez was recently beaten in a ‘boxing’ match by golfer Carson Young.

Young was on the Korn Ferry Tour. Notably, the Korn Ferry Tour is a developmental tour for professional golfers before they enter PGA.
This was when Alvarez met Young to wish him for his upcoming game. In fact, he walked up to Young and asked him if he would like to box. An excited Young agreed, saying, “I’ll never say no to a fight. Let’s do it.”

The duo then proceeded to engage in a game of ‘Rock em, Sock em, Robots’. Moreover, Young beat Alvarez barely seconds into the very first game. It was then decided that they would decide the winner by playing the best of three.
Alvarez defeated Young in the second round. However, he was beaten again by the young golfer in the third round. Talking about his victory in ‘boxing’, Young said, “I just won. There’s nothing to it. He’s really not that good.”

Meanwhile, Alvarez agreed he lost, and also wished Young the best for his upcoming game.
Canelo Alvarez vs Gennady Golovkin
Canelo Alvarez first fought Gennady Golovkin at the T Mobile Arena in Paradise, Nevada on September 16, 2017. However, the fight ended in a draw. Moreover, there were immediate talks of a rematch, as the decision was considered disputable.
The duo faced each other for their rematch exactly a year later on September 15, 2018, at the same venue. Alvarez was declared the victor by decision. Moreover, in victory, he won WBA (Super), WBC, and vacant The Ring middleweight titles.

Alvarez will face Golovkin in a highly anticipated trilogy fight on September 17, 2022. In fact, promoter Eddie Hearn revealed that the third rematch will be the biggest fight of the trilogy.
Additionally, Hearn also mentioned that Alvarez will only fight Golovkin if he gets to fight Bivol after that.
