The 19-year-old Mexican got engaged to 27-year-old Marisol Gonzalez. She won the 2003 edition of Miss Mexico Universe. As a result of her win, she represented her country at the 2003 Miss Universe pageant. She exited in the first round itself.

5 weeks after the engagement ‘Canelo’ defended the WBC Silver light middleweight title against Lovemore N’dou. As per a 2010 boxing scene report, the duo were to take their vows a year later. Unfortunately, things didn’t work out and they called off the engagement. Later, the boxer was spotted with Kate del Castillo.

She appeared at his fight against Shane Mosley in Las Vegas. The TV star is 18 years older than the boxer. As per a news.com.au report, Castillo spilled the beans on her sex life with ‘Canelo.’

She said, “there were some strong rounds and yes, there were sometimes knockouts. He was the first to hit the canvas and ask for his corner to throw in the towel.”

Castillo was twice divorced and didn’t take it further with the boxing star. The actress recently appeared as the main antagonist in the 2020 film Bad Boys for Life. 

In 2013, Mexican outlet TV Notas linked the boxer with 4th placed 2005 La Academia contestant Cynthia Rodriguez. A fabwags post reported that the couple had been dating for a couple of months. However, it did not seem to work out as ‘Canelo’ moved on. 

Saul Alvarez has children from different relationships

He has a daughter with Fernanda Gomez. As per a Clase report Maria Fernanda was born in December 2017.

However, just as she announced her pregnancy, ‘Canelo’ commenced a relationship with Venezuelan model Shannon De Lima. It ended a few months later, but just months after Gomez and Alvarez gave it another shot he became a father yet again in September 2018. This time he was blessed with a son (Saul Abidel).

The same report says the baby is a result of his relationship earlier in the year with his business partner Nelda Sepulveda. However, all seems well with Fernanda Gomez and ‘Canelo.’

Who is Canelo Alvarez dating in 2021?

As of February 2021, Alvarez is still with the mother of two of his children, Fernanda Gomez. Despite keeping his personal life, a secret for the most part, the two have shared a few pictures together on their social media. Moreover, they even shared a holiday together before the COVID-19 pandemic.

Therefore, after a series of short-term relationships, the Mexican superstar seems to have found his match in Gomez. Despite being together for a while now, Canelo is yet to tie the knot with Gomez. Thus, as of February 2021, the Mexican is still unmarried.
