Canelo has made no secret to fight on the Cinco De Mayo weekend, an occasion of a grand celebration in his hometown of Mexico. Mike Coppinger from The Athletic was the first to report the news on his Twitter.

He suggested February will be the date for the fight against Yildirim after he agreed to details with Eddie Hearn. This would give Canelo just enough time to come back in May.

The fact that Alvarez has signed a deal is also a noteworthy point and could be a sign for the future. Hearn said it would be an honor to work with him. Thus, fans should keep their eyes peeled on this union.
