Canelo Alvarez vs Billy Joe Saunders is getting set in the most exemplary manner. The pair will fight each other on May 8 at an undisclosed location. But, according to some recent reports, it seems that fans will get to enjoy this fight by marking themselves present inside the stadium.

Mike Coppinger was the first to report this on his official Twitter handle.

“Sources: Canelo Alvarez-Billy Joe Saunders on May 8 will land at either AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas (home of Dallas Cowboys) or Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas (home of Raiders). With Texas removing all COVID restrictions could lead to a capacity crowd (over 80,000 seats)” he tweeted.

Right after Canelo Alvarez‘s win over Avni Yildirim, his promoter, Eddie Hearn, made his fight with Saunders official. The Mexican boxer has colossal plans of fighting for the undisputed title at the 168-pound category. And he wants to vanquish any and everyone from his way for the same.

Meanwhile, Saunders has defended his WBO belt several times and now he’s looking for an even bigger challenge. The Brit feels he’s in his abrupt prime and nothing can be better than facing someone like Alvarez.

This is predominantly why their promoter Eddie Hearn is adamant about conducting this fight in the mightiest way possible. A suitable location is yet to get finalized for this clash. However, as the global pandemic is still affecting many countries, Hearn will look to pick the best location so that fans can enjoy this fight and everything can be conducted safely.

Despite the initial reports, the number of fans allowed in the stadium has now been confirmed. Cameron Wolfe from ESPN was the first to break the news. He revealed that the venue would allow a minimum of 60,000 thousand fans, with the possibility of it increasing to 70,000.

Although this is less than the previous reports of 80,000, it will still be the biggest sporting event in terms of crowd attendance in the post pandemic era. Moreover, it will be a befitting crowd for the fantastic fight between Canelo Alvarez and Billy Joe Saunders.
