Earlier this month, Canelo Alvarez and Caleb Plant squared off in an exemplary super-middleweight encounter. Both the men battled each other for the undisputed super-middleweight championship. The historic contest lived up to all the pre-fight expectations. After 11 grueling rounds, Alvarez made history with a T/KO win.

Before this fight took place, there were dark clouds already pertaining to the VADA tests of both the fighters. But recently, the news of their tests broke out, wherein both Plant and Alvarez’s samples came out clean.

Alvarez, in the past, had tested positive for a banned substance. Citing that, fans worried about him testing positive again for something similar. However, the p4p bigwig came in clean and he gave in his best shot to win this fight.

As always, Canelo didn’t begin the fight on a significant note. He took time in reading what Plant was up to. As a result, putting his smart fight IQ to the play, Canelo decoded Plant’s style and began landing some slick body shots.

This helped him nullify the physical disadvantage and cut ‘Sweethands’ down to size in order to finish him and leave nothing in the hands of the judges.

‘Sweethands’ Plant, the underdog in this fight, didn’t budge an inch from his intent to win. In fact, he proved to be the toughest opponent for Canelo Alvarez at the 168-pound landscape.

In the initial rounds, Caleb Plant kept up with some sublime pace and his notable jabs.

Although Canelo pressed him down to a fair extent in this fight, ‘Sweethands’ still fought like a lion and gave fans the show that was worth the money they paid to watch it.
