Four-division world champion Canelo Alvarez registered a successful comeback against the previously unbeaten Callum Smith at the Alamodome. He became the first man to beat the former super -middleweight champion.
Alvarez,30, outpointed Callum Smith throughout the fight and grabbed a comfortable win. Although he couldn’t claim it via stoppage, it was still a one-sided show from the Mexican gladiator. He silenced all doubts connected to ring-rust given his year of inactivity.
Starting from his spectacular entrance, to being the early aggressor, Canelo Alvarez proved to be a better man in every aspect.

5’8” Canelo was dancing against a 6’3” ‘Mundo’. However, he didn’t let it affect the game plan. Alvarez used the range smartly and outpointed Smith with brutal shots.
Even though the fight went till the last bell, Callum Smith was done with the action and had very little to offer for Alvarez. Following a 12-round battle, Alvarez sealed the win on the margin of 119-109, 119-109, and 117-113.
