Dmitry Bivol impressed the boxing fans when he dominated Canelo Alvarez in his last fight. The fans are excited to see the fighters will face each other again. Whereas Eddie Hearn decided to keep the rematch in 2023.

According to the latest tweet from Michael Benson, Hearn suggested some fights for Dmitry Bivol before his clash against Alvarez, which will take place in 2023.

Eddie Hearn suggests Bivol fight the winner of Artur Beterbiev vs Joe Smith Jr for the undisputed light heavyweight title. Hearn also suggested Bivol face either Callum Smith or Joshua Buatsi who are prominent fighters in the light heavyweight division.

What’s on the table for Dmitry Bivol in these fights?

Dmitry Bivol gained a lot of popularity after his victory against Alvarez. As a result, he entered the list of P4P rankings of the boxers. Now, it’s a question for Bivol to select his next opponent.

Bivol currently holds the WBA light heavyweight title to his name. To become the undisputed champion of the world in the light heavyweight division, he needs to fight the winner between Artur Beterbiev and Joe Smith Jr. who will fight for the WBC, WBO, and IBF titles on June 18.

On the other hand, Callum Smith is also a good contender as he stands at #3 in the light heavyweight division. This clash will bring a lot of attention from the fans.

Joshua Buatsi is also a good contender for Dmitry Bivol as from he is undefeated in his career of 16 fights. Notably, he won 13 of his fights with knockouts. 

Why Bivol can’t fight Canelo Alvarez in 2022?

The fans thought they will soon witness the fight if Bivol and Alvarez. But Alvarez has another significant fight which is against his old foe, Gennady Golovkin.

The boxing fans waited for this fight for a long time. The trilogy of Golovkin and Alvarez will be held on September 17, 2022. Now that Alvarez’s match is set up in September, it will be tough for him to face Bivol anytime soon in 2022. 

Well, before fighting Alvarez in 2023, Bivol can achieve more to his name by fighting some notable boxers of his weight division and achieve more glory to his name.
