The 168-pounder fight might get scheduled in Mexico, which will see a homecoming for the champion, Canelo Alvarez.
With this fight being in talks, the Mexican boxer has cemented his plans of staying in the 168-pound division for a while. It also speculates him to take on the British boxer, Billy Joe Saunders, following this fight.
Canelo, a veteran of the sport, is a fan favorite since his debut. Over the years, he has established himself as the best in the sport. He has a 54-1 professional boxing record. At age 30, Canelo is still going sturdy in his boxing run and shows no signs of stopping.
Many boxing enthusiasts presumed him to face his second loss to Smith. But Canelo didn’t leave a single chance to stagger his critics. He did not let Smith dominate him even for a single second in the fight.

Can Avni Yildirim stun Canelo Alvarez?
The Turkish boxer, Yildirim, is one of the solid contenders in the 168-pounder. ‘Mr. Robot’ hasn’t quite maintained an active streak in the division. He last fought in February 2019, succumbing to a loss to Anthony Dirrell. He has a 21-2 pro-boxing record. His inactive streak and lack of skill sets, compared to Canelo, can put him in peril.

Canelo has a big fight IQ. He looks to expose his opponent’s weaknesses and capitalize on the same. In this fight too, Alvarez will look to expose the lackluster run of ‘Mr. Robot’.
However, if Yildirim looks to give Canelo a stern test inside the ring, he will have to go all out with his current skills and identify Alvarez’s weaknesses.
It will be an exciting bout for Yildirim as a fight with Canelo brings a lot of accolades and lessons.
