The pound-for-pound phenomenon, Canelo Alvarez, seems invincible at this stage of his boxing career. Having conquered the 168 lbs division by beating three undefeated champions and a mandatory challenger. Therefore, Alvarez can now move to a different weight category. He had three title fights in 2021, all of which went in his favor via stoppages. That said, Canelo Alvarez is the first-ever undisputed champion of the division.

All these features tout him to be superior to his contemporaries. However, Regis Prograis sees Jermall Charlo as an anti-dote to Alvarez’s dominance. Per reports, PBC has offered to set up a fight between Canelo Alvarez and WBC middleweight champion Jermall Charlo. While the matchup is still not official, Prograis has already backed Charlo to batter the P4P King.

“Mall strong, like he strong as a m**** f****, hit hard and stuff like that. I definitely think he got the style to beat somebody like Canelo. I think, he’ll be probably one of Canelo’s strongest opponents he’s fought in the last few years.”

Jermall Charlo is still undefeated as a pro and is one of the best boxers at 160 lbs. He has been calling out Canelo Alvarez for years, but it’s hard to imagine him dominating the fight unless done in reality.
