Ramon Alvarez, the brother of Canelo Alvarez, demolished Omar Chavez and took home the unanimous decision. The two fought each other for the third time after both fighters had a win-a-piece. This trilogy fight lived up to the names of the boxers.

The two fought on the undercard of the historic Tribute to the Kings event which featured Anderson Silva vs. Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. as the main event. And both fighters had a lot to say about each other, having fought twice in the past. In 2014, Alvarez took home the unanimous decision victory, while in 2017, Chavez knocked out Alvarez. Thus, this fight was to settle the scores.
