Eddy Reynoso is the two-time trainer of the year and the backbone for Canelo Alvarez and his team. Since Canelo came into the gym at 15 years old, he found a place at Reynoso’s stable and in his heart. The pair formed an incredible bond that led them to make history inside the ring.

Following Canelo’s historic win over Caleb ‘Sweethands’ Plant, he left the entire boxing world wondering what’s next for him. Well, Eddy Reynoso broke the silence as he confirmed four candidates for Alvarez’s next fight.
“There are several boxers who are in line,” Reynoso declared to La Aficion. “Berteviev, Bivol, Charlo, Benavidez. We will see with whom we can reach a good negotiation.”

Although Canelo has held various world titles in different weight classes, Reynoso revealed he wanted to continue at the 168-pound weight class.“It’s a lot of weight, at 168 pounds we feel very good and we prepare really well. We put in strength and he doesn’t wear out. I think 168 [pounds] is better and we’ll see who wants to fight him at that weight.”

This year has been a historic year for Team Canelo, as he became the first-ever ‘undisputed’ super-middleweight champion of the world. He also made history for Mexico after becoming the first Latin American to become an ‘Undisputed’ champion.

David Benavidez wants Canelo Alvarez next
Former super-middleweight champion David Benavidez wants another shot at the title. He beat Kyrone Davis last Saturday night after Davis’ corner threw the towel in. Benavidez celebrated the victory by calling out Canelo Alvarez. In his post-fight interview following his win over Kyrone Davis, he spoke about how the people wanted to see him fight Canelo.

“It was tough but I have so much condition, I’m going to keep going until he eventually stops,” he said. “I think everybody wants to see me against Canelo. I’ll go through anybody; whoever they want me to go through.”
Benavidez is a former champion, but he has never faced someone with the movement, speed, and power of Canelo Alvarez.
